Highways of Passaic County, New Jersey

County Road 648

Passaic County Road 648 is Market Street in Paterson.

The east end of the street was part of a 1930s alignment of NJ 6, later known as NJ S-6 after NJ 6 (now known as US 46) was built. Even earlier than that, it was listed as part of the original State Highway Route 10, which carried traffic all the way to the Edgewater ferry (see Market Street in Bergen County for more details).

A significant stretch of the road, from the Erie tracks to Madison Avenue, is rather narrow and carries just one lane of traffic, heading eastbound.
