Inter-league play begins. Each team plays its league opponents twice each and five of the six opposing league teams once each.

In perhaps the greatest pitching performance for a no-decision in League history, Gerry Cooper of Flash retires all 18 batters he faces in the opening game of the Town Series 28-Jun against Kiwanis. His team is unable to scratch out a run against John Pecora, and the game goes into extra innings. The Little League pitching regulation forces both hurlers off the mound in the seventh inning; Kiwanis scores two runs in the first half of the frame, but Flash rallies for three, winning on a single by J.D. Maarleveld. Flash wins again two days later, 4-3, to capture the town championship.
