In an opening-weekend rarity, Mike Persak of Keller hits a home run for the only scoring in his team’s 1-0 victory over Lions.

Kiwanis sets a playoff record by scoring 11 runs in the second inning of Game 1 of the Town Series, but Flash rallies to win, 14-13. Flash gains the sweep with a 10-9 victory in Game 2, completing the highest-scoring Town Series ever. The 27 combined runs in the opener have since been exceeded twice in playoff games. In a 1989 contest, Keller defeated Lions, 21-7, while in 2016, Kurgan downed Springs, 21-13.
