Highways of Bergen County, New Jersey

US 9W is the western alignment of US 9, the one that doesn’t cross the Hudson. It received its designation in 1930, although it was in a slightly different place for a good portion of its length then. Much of the current road was part of NJ 18N or NJ 1 prior to the state highway renumbering of 1953, which was also when parts of Route 9W were moved off the Palisades to make room for the Palisades Interstate Parkway, NJ 445.
