Quick Facts:
George Tani Memorial Field was built as an American Legion ballpark in the 1960s. With no high school baseball in Wyoming owing to the climate, Legion ball is typically the highest level of ball played in the state. That said, the Cowboy State has occasionally seen pro teams come in. One of those was the Casper Rockies, who relocated from Butte, Mont., for the 2001 season.

The Rockies’ use of this ballpark was temporary, as Mike Lansing Field opened the next year. Tani Field continues to see use by local teams, including the Casper Baseball Club, another outfit that has sprung up to fill the void left by the lack of high school programs.
