It’s All About the Chicken

Main (third base side) entrance to Capital Credit Union Park, Jul-2021.

Primary seating is mainly in one level.

All artificial turf, and an unusually short right field.

Quick Facts:
The Village of Ashwaubenon, adjacent to the city of Green Bay, squeezed this stadium into a narrow space between Holmgren Way and an industrial park, down the block from the village municipal complex. In tribute to its location, the place looks rather industrial. The very shallow right field wall is made of double-stacked shipping containers, with either padding or a video board and scoreboard in front of it. The height of the wall at that point is 22 feet, which is a good thing given that it’s only 282 feet down the right-field line.

Most of the seating is in one eight-row level, with a concourse behind it. There is a club level with upstairs seating, both indoors and out. You can only walk around in left field, as right field is blocked out by the shipping containers.

The Green Bay Bullfrogs, a college summer league team in the Northwoods League, relocated from Joannes Park Stadium in Green Bay proper to the new facility, located only about half a mile from Lambeau Field, home of the NFL Green Bay Packers. The team renamed itself the Booyah in conjunction with the move. Booyah is a stew (the word might be a variant of bouillon) that is cooked for several days and seasoned with vegetables and a type of meat, frequently chicken. The team logo features a chicken wielding a baseball bat, and there is an extremely large booyah kettle on site at the stadium.

For whatever reason, the Northwoods League team here rebranded as the Rockers for the 2022 season. I have no idea whether they still sell booyah at the park.
