The Tigue

The handsome entry portal to "Tigue" Moore Field, Jul-2020.

The profile of the seating bowl from just outside the first-base gate.

A rather impressive scoreboard and video board in left field.

Quick Facts:
Built in 1978, Moore Field – named after benefactor Marion Lartigue “Tigue” Moore and given his full name after his death in 1994 – has been expanded several times as the profile of the athletic program at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (referred to simply as “Louisiana” by the athletic department, despite the existence of a sister school in Monroe) has risen. The field gained artificial turf in 2010, the scoreboard was upgraded in 2013, and following the 2016 season an entirely new stadium structure was built, financed in large part by contributions from the Russo family.

Prior to all these major upgrades, the park saw additional summertime use by the independent Texas-Louisiana League, whose itinerant Bullfrogs (who had once played as far west as Beaumont, Texas) landed there for three seasons.

I was not able to get into The Tigue on my 2020 visit.
