Clark Field

Today’s football stand at Clark Field, Jul-2020.

This may have been the view of fans behind the plate at one time.

A lonely backstop a block away is the only hint of baseball ever being played here.

Quick Facts:
When it was built in the 1950s, Clark Field was adaptable to either baseball or football, and for four years an Evangeline League team played here. At some point in the recent past, the field was rebuilt for strictly football use, with an artificial turf surface, and it is now used by the adjacent Catholic high school as well as by youth programs in town. The park and adjacent golf course are owned by the consolidated city-parish government.

I was not able to get into Clark Field on my 2020 visit.
