Eve Park

The Victory Drive approach to Eve Park, Nov-2020.

A few buildings remain on site, dedicated to community baseball use.

Quick Facts:
Across from the railroad tracks and a few blocks from U.S. Highway 41, one finds this four-field complex administered by Tift County.

It is difficult to tell now, but Eve Park, the largest of the fields on site, once had a grandstand and, for eight years, hosted minor league ball. For one season, the club was managed by Paul Eames, who was also a catcher for the club. Eames went on to retire in Albany, thirty miles to the west of Tifton, and the city eventually named a sports complex for him.

Today, a concession and clubhouse building still stands, but it is not likely original to 1949. The dugouts are mere benches fenced off from the field of play, and there are very small covered bleachers appropriate to its current use for recreational baseball.
