Quick Facts:
The Pittsburgh Pirates have called this facility on the east end of Bradenton their Florida home for half a century. According to one fellow I spoke to at a nearby fast-food restaurant, the complex looked more like a trailer camp until 2008, when the club and the city combined on an effort to upgrade both this facility and their home for spring training games, McKechnie Field, located three miles to the east.

The field complex comprises four full-size fields for use by the Pirates. Other organizations have also used the facility; Baseball Factory, one of the major youth baseball and softball training outfits, conducts year-round workouts at Pirate City. Some of the fields have artificial turf infields in order to accommodate the heavy use that the facility gets.
