Quick Facts:
Kelowna is the largest city in British Columbia outside the Vancouver area. Its climate and proximity to the lake country make it desirable, and as a result the population is now pushing 200,000.

The numbers weren't quite so high in 2003, when the independent Canadian Baseball League decided to put one of its western franchises here. While it may not have been Kelowna's fault, the loop folded after playing roughly half a season, and Elks Stadium's turn in the professional spotlight was over almost before it began.

Fortunately, the park lives on. The West Coast League, a college summer league, now includes the Kelowna Falcons as one of its members.
