Erie Avenue begins at Grand Avenue, on the edge of Memorial Park, and heads east along the Erie Railroad tracks to Meadow Road, part of the old Newark-Hackensack Turnpike. All except the section between Grand and Jackson avenues is Bergen County highway 32. Addresses are split into east and west, divided by Park Avenue.
There is no consistency of even and odd house numbers, as all the houses are on the south side of the street (the tracks run on the north side).
