The American Leaguers made it to the semi-finals by topping Hasbrouck Heights, 19-3, on the one-hit pitching of Guy Indyk and the hitting of Vinnie DeCesare and Tom Ferullo. Indyk had a no-hitter until Rich Sodora singled with two outs in the sixth inning. DeCesare had five hits, including a home run, and knocked in five runs, while Ferullo added three hits and four RBIs to Rutherford’s 19-hit attack.
