Rutherford’s National League entry in the Little League playoffs was eliminated by Lyndhurst’s Nationals, 11-0, in the District 5 semi-finals.
Nick Rubertone and Dave Banasiak hit back-to-back homers in the second inning to highlight a 14-hit Lyndhurst attack off pitchers Pat Strehl and Tim O’Brien.
Tom Della Valle allowed only five hits for Lyndhurst, including a two-bagger by John Papenberg.
