Big news of the week was Harry Usher’s perfect game.

The Kiwanis moundsman shut out Pastore last Thursday 5-0, allowed not a single hit, walked none, and got perfect support from his Kiwanis teammates - as he faced but eighteen batters in a perfect performance.

Usher, who leads the league in the earned run average department, was never threatened as the smooth-fielding Kiwanians threw up a perfect defense and the Pastore batters, who hold the best team bat mark in the loop, were completely styimed by the assortment of stuff that the little hurler threw up.

The Kiwanis stick brigade only got to Pastore pitcher Jim Bull for six safeties, but they combined with five free passes and four Pastore miscues to bring five runners across.

The Kiwanis scored a singleton in the first and put the game on ice with three big runs in the fourth. Reardon and D’Ziadosz hit to pace the rally.
