Home of the Blowfish

Walking up to Lexington Co. Baseball Stadium, Jul-2022.

A good look at the main seating area.

Unlike some other newer facilities, this one has real grass.

Quick Facts:
After playing nine seasons at a deteriorating Capital City Stadium in Columbia, the Blowfish of the Coastal Plain League, a college summer league, moved across the river and the county line to this facility on the west side of the city of Lexington. A grandstand down the third-base line that doesn't exactly face the field is the last vestige of the old Lexington High School football stadium; the school got its own sports complex around 2008.

Aside from there being a lot of flies swarming around (but it’s the South), I was most dismayed by the parking fee assessed, apparently, by the city to park in the lot across the street. This was the only college summer league park I attended in 2022 where I had to pay for parking. I was impressed with the concessions, which are reasonably priced for decent-sized portions. Having a cover over the rear portion of the home plate grandstand is also a welcome touch.
