This field, sometimes referred to as Yankees Community Field, is immediately adjacent to George M. Steinbrenner Field, the spring home of the Yankees and also the home of the Tampa Tarpons of the Florida State League. It is adjacent to the Dale Mabry campus of Hillsborough Community College; both facilities occupy part of the site of Drew Field, which was Tampa’s airport before it expanded to the west.

The Yankees have hosted a season-opening event involving NCAA Division 2 schools. Some games are played on Steinbrenner Field, while some are played here. The Hillsborough Hawks also play some of their home schedule on this field, playing other games at the Himes Field complex across the street that is also managed by the Yankees.
