Turley Field

The simple grandstands at Eckerd College. There is no first-base bleacher.

Action during the 2019 season opener.

Quick Facts:
Eckerd College opened in 1960 as Florida Presbyterian College, changing its name in 1972 to honor a trustee who gave them a large monetary gift. The school is aligned with the Presbyterian Church (USA).

The campus is on the south end of the Pinellas peninsula, a few miles north of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and a few miles south of downtown St. Pete. Baseball, softball, and soccer are all played at the Turley Athletic Complex.

Baseball is played on a regulation-size lighted field (325 feet down the lines, 400 to center). There is no enclosed press box, but the part of the bleacher behind the plate where game day operations occur is covered by an overhang. There is a third-base bleacher, but no first-base bleacher; home team fans will set up lawn chairs along that side.
