A Lovely Setting by Crooked Lake

Quick Facts:
Webber International University was founded in 1927 by entrepreneur and economist Roger Babson, whose then-unorthodox views of stock market investing became accepted in part in later years. He founded Babson College in Wellesley, Mass., and then established Webber College on an arm of Crooked Lake in Polk Co., Fla., that became known as Babson Park. The school has an enrollment of just 800, of which a disproportionate number appear to be student-athletes. The school competes in the NAIA in 22 different sports.

Brad Niethammer Field is named after the longtime baseball coach (1993 to 2019) who now (as of 2024) serves as the school’s athletic director. The facility features a modest grandstand with a respectable view of the lake from the upper rows. The center section of the grandstand has fold-down seats; the rest of it features bleachers. There is a concession stand on the third-base side, near the home dugout.
