The road roughly parallels the Squaw Brook, which meets the Oldham Brook just before flowing into Oldham Pond. The Oldham Brook flows into the Passaic River near John F. Kennedy (formerly Central) High School in Paterson.
Squaw Brook Road continues into Wyckoff, where it is maintained by the township.
