Highways of Bergen County, New Jersey

County Road 28

Bergen County Road 28, Kingsland Avenue, is the extension of Park Avenue in Nutley (Essex CR 646) once it crosses the Avondale bridge. However, the stretch of Kingsland Avenue between the river and Riverside Avenue is not listed in the state inventory as part of the county road, although the bridge itself (also called the Joseph DeJessa bridge after a Lyndhurst resident killed in Vietnam in 1967) is jointly owned by Bergen and Essex counties.

Kingsland Avenue also continues to the east, beyond Ridge Road, but that stretch, continuing to Schuyler Avenue, CR 130, is maintained by the Township of Lyndhurst.
